warning :: contains FAKE blood...

... on the surface this may look a little graphic and may offend BUT in reality it really was quite funny.

One of my pictures for design class this week is :: an image that communicates ideas associated with red :: and I've racked my brains for the last week on what and how I was going to meet the criteria... passion, anger, danger, war, lust, power, etc.

In the end I've settled on violence using some very fake {and very sticky} blood. My {willing} subject allowed me to pour our homemade blood* over her and then posed {amongst much giggling} until I got what I wanted. I know that the imagery is a little confronting, but it was done in good humour, and I think the highlight for her was at the end when we cut her top off with scissors, as the stuff was so sticky I didn't want it in her hair, and sent her off to have a shower to clean up the rest.

So what did you do with your public holiday day off?

* if {for some freaky reason} you are interested, the blood was make with one tablespoon of arrowroot flour, 1/2 cup of glucose syrup, 1/4 cup water, 4ml of red food colouring, 4 drops of blue food colouring & lots of stirring.
